Benjamin Mendy Rape Case dropped.
The 28 year old former French international is now a free man following the acquittal in his second trial from his previous two charges which was still pending .
Back in January this year Benjamin Mendy was also found not guilty of six charges of rape, one count of sexual assault at the same Court.
Yesterday on friday he walked freely from the chester crown court in Northern England.
While speaking to the media outside the court, the former French international said, “Alhamdulillah” which means ‘Praise God’ in Arabic.
On the other side his lawyer jenny Wiltshire said that she was delighted that both juries made the correct verdict.
“Benjamin Mendy would like to thank the members of the jury for focusing on the evidence in this trial, rather than on the rumors and innuendos that have followed this case from outset” ~Jenny said.
According to the prosecutors who brought the case to the court for charges, they said that they respect the decision of the Jury.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to prosecute rape cases wherever our legal test is met no matter how challenging the case…” ~They said.
In August 2021 Benjamin Mendy who was then playing for Manchester City club was suspended when the charges were announced.
His contract with Manchester city however expired at the end of the 2022 – 23 season, and he will be forced to relook back his football career once again.
