The famous coastal Televangelist Ezekiel Odero has today been released on a Kes 3 Million bond with an alternative cash bail of Kes 1.5 Million.

According to the senior principal magistrate at the shanzu court Joe Omido, he ruled that the State did not provide enough reasons to continue detaining the televangelist.

As per the court ruling dated 4th ,may , 2023 magistrate Omido ordered Ezekiel Odero to report to the police once in a week.

The Shanzu court also barred him from talking or making any comments regarding the Shakahola massacre until the on going investigation is complete.

The police detectives who were handling the case had requested the court to give them additional 30 days to complete Investigation however they failed to press charges against him despite being present at the court.

Supporters and follower of the Good News International church who were camping at the court premises conducting prayer for the man of God, were happy today evening after he was released from detention.

Pastor Ezekiel Odero was arrested at his home last week after he was linked to the contraversial cult leader Paul Mackenzie who forced his followers to starve to death in order to meet “Jesus.”

According to the detectives affidavit is that Paul Mackenzie and Ezekiel Odero were so close, as Ezekiel Odero purchased Times Tv from Paul Mackenzie at Kes 500,000.

Currently the government bis carrying out autopsy on the bodies that were found buried in mass Graves in Shakahola forest.

According to the report by the government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor so far most bodies reveal that victims of Paul Mackenzie cult died of starvation while a few of them mostly children died of asphyxiation which caused by denying someone oxygen prior to death indicating that they were struggled to death.

So far autopsy has been done on 76 bodies as per yesterday’s data the process is expected to end tomorrow.

The process of carrying out DNA test also began yesterday and several people have camped at the Malindi Sub county morgue awaiting to identify their loved ones.

The government has urged the public to remain calm on the matter as thorough Investigation is being conducted to a certain what really transpired.
