Noordin Haji just barely one month after he was sworn in as the director general for National Intelligence Service he’s facing criticism from the government side.
A section of Kenya Kwanza MPs have come out with fresh claims that he’s an Azimio sympathizer hiding in the government.
Noordin Haji was sworn into office on 14, june, 2023 taking over the mantle from Wachira Kameru who retired after serving at the helm of spy body for over 8 years.
The section of those Kenya Kwanza Mps had attended a meeting at the statehouse Nairobi on July 15, 2023.
In the meeting they lamented that Noordin Haji has been sympathizing with the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.
They also accused the top spy for pushing to have bilateral relations between Azimio leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto, something they don’t want to happen in any way.
However they also discussed his his conduct and close relationship with former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“It’s good to be understood that Mr. Haji has been seen meeting with Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta. He has to decide whether he’s an Azimio politician or a public servant..” ~One Member Said.
It was also revealed that some of the leaders in that meeting wanted Haji to appear before the National Assembly and Senate for punishment and if possible to be impeached.
The members also lamented that their has been a bit of laziness at the NIS especially during demonstration period as most armed groups have revamped without the knowledge of the NIS, making it hard for police to deal with them.
This however forced the majority leaders both from National Assembly and Senate, Kimani Ichung’wa and Aaron Cheruiyot respectively , to release a statement that they will be handling the demonstrations.
In a statement the two said that as from next Wednesday, where the Azimio leaders have announced demonstrations , they will also get out together with their supporters to assist the police.
They will deal with Odinga’s supporters which they say is to protect the people of Kenya and their Businesses.
