Busia Traders have today stormed Governor’s office decrying harassment from county Enforcement officers (Kanjo).
Services at the office of the governor at Busia County were paralysed for the better part of today.

Angry traders from Busia town stormed the office decrying harassment from the county enforcement officers popularly known as Kanjo.
The small scale traders who carry out there businesses at Busia town have been for a while clashed with county enforcement officers who have been chasing them away from there places of work.
The peaceful demonstrations began on Thursday morning , the traders camped outside the Governor’s office ready to present there petition to the county boss.
Busia Governor Dr. Paul Otuoma who was on an official trip in Nairobi arrived later in the evening ready to calm down angry traders.
Several traders representatives presented there petitions before the Governor who listened to them carefully.
After the presentations, the governor who was accompanied with the county commissioner Mr. Ruto assured them that they will no longer face any harassment. Promising that he’s going follow up on the matter immediately.
The county boss also ordered the county enforcement officers (kanjo) to immediately return back the arrested business items and goods belonging to traders.
The governor also assured Busia residents that all promises he made during the campaign people will be achieved in the near future.
