Azimio la Umoja coalition top leadership has vowed to strongly oppose the proposed 2023 finance bill by Kenya Kwanza side.
The bill has undergone through the public participation for the past few weeks however it has received several rejection from the people who are against the high taxation.
Democratic Action Party leader Eugene Wamalwa who is also one of the key principals of Azimio la Umoja has revealed that once the bill is passed it will overburden Kenyans considering the high inflation we are experiencing.
Speaking in Budalangi Wamalwa maintained that the opposition will continue to put pressure to the government to make revisions failure to which protest would resume.
On the other hand the former Kakamega county governor Wycliffe Oparanya who was also in the same event urged Azimio lawmakers to strongly reject the bill and stand with the public.
They spoke this during the homecoming of Budalangi member of Parliament Raphael Wanjala.
Else where the Siaya Governor James Orengoalso urged all Azimio lawmakers to ensure that they vote against the bill so as to stand with the public.
Orengo revealed that if the proposed bill passes bin the Parliament it will plunge the country into more problems.
The proposed bill seeks to extend Kenya’s tax base which will allow KRA to collect more revenue as tax payers will have dig deeper into their pockets.
